About Me

My photo
simba
In 2006 when I was 33 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 2b. After 6 months of ABVD chemotherapy and 3 weeks of radiation I was in remission until I relapsed in early 2011. I then had ESHAP chemo with a view to having a SCT. The chemotherapy did not work and I was given some tough choices and told my 'chance of a cure was now low' I decided at that point not to pursue further treatment, in July 2011 it was estimated that I probably had 6 months to live (so 'live' I did!) In January 2012 I started a new treatment , Brentuximab and after 6 treatments I was in remission. I am still on brentuximab every 3 weeks until the decision is made regarding the next step. I haven't got an update on my likelihood of cure but I am sure it's more than 'low'. I called my blog love, life and lymphoma because..... I am trying to learn about and experience love, not in a romantic way but in more of a hippy spiritual way, this life is what I have been given to have this experience and the lymphoma is maybe part of the lesson, learning to love no matter what and to endeavour not to suffer when there is pain.
